Ospreys remain a scarce bird in Wales with only two confirmed breeding pairs in Glaslyn and in the Dyfi Valley. Open all year round pop along to the large hide at Pont Croesor to watch us doing our stuff. You'll also find three widescreen plasma monitors bringing you intimate views of family life direct from our nest. Open all year round and offers extensive woodland trails. If you walk the trail to the top of the hill, there are views of Glaslyn and Dwyryd estuaries, Harlech and Criccieth Castles, and to the Lleyn Peninsula beyond. There is a lettered woodland quiz for children to follow. |

Lôn Cob Bach Local Nature Reserve creates a peaceful green oasis right in the middle of the historic town of Pwllheli. This is an important habitat for a number of different species of birds and animals such as the kingfisher and otter. |

Y Foryd is a partially enclosed intertidal bay on the Menai Strait. The sand and mud are important feeding habitats for a number of native and migratory bird species. In the winter, this becomes a haven for many ducks and waders. Large flocks of over 5,000 widgeon can be seen, along with a number of shell ducks, oyster catchers, curlews and lapwing. |

Park Dudley Nature Reserve is a mixed woodland full of wildlife; native species of birds, plants and animals, some uncommon like the pied flycatcher which travels all the way from Africa to nest on the reserve. Pen y Banc nature reserve sits on the Glaslyn estuary, an area popular with visitors in the summer for its sandy beaches. You can often spot species such as the curlew, redshank and black-necked grebe during the winter as well as an abundance of plant life. The coastal path winds its way through the nature reserve as well as a number of other paths. |
