Holiday Cottages in North Wales

"Ty Gilfach is a true rural idyll. The views are breathtaking, you simply have to look out the window or open the door to feel yourself relax and smile, sitting outside with a cup of coffee and hearing the tinkling water and wind in the trees is such a tonic for the soul coming from London! The bed is a dream to sleep on and Cwm Pennant a stunning part of wales. We will be back if you will let us! "

"Serendepity! A marvelous cottage with EVERYTHING we could have possibly needed during our holiday. Breathtaking views, wonderful walks and a calm, peaceful setting far from the madding crowds. With decades in the travel and hospitality industry we are very picky, but Ty Gilfach rated at 10 out of 10. It's Olympic Gold - and the owners created a brilliant getaway atmosphere. The bathrooms even passed Debs critical American review tests! We hope to visit again!"
The Bernsteins - Minneapolis, USA - Jul 2012

"Had a lovely week to celebrate Hels birthday. We were blessed with glorious sunshine for most of the week. Had a lovely walk through the bluebells to the waterfall and then up to the top of the hill for a great view of the valley and a dip in the cascades to cool off on our way back down. Hope to come back one day - we are very grateful that we found Gilfach and that it was available at such short notice. Cheers."

"We have had a perfect week in Wales. The weather has been excellent, the farmhouse has been very comfortable and we have all been very happy indeed!

Loved having the Rayburn to cook on in a well kitted out kitchen. Spent our last morning sunbathing, sketching and pic-nicing in the garden - very relaxing. Also enjoyed a few cycle rides along the valley, stopping for a swim in the river and buying some fresh eggs from the farm.

Marie & Ray have been very kind to us and we all appreciated their beautiful cottage. Our youngest son Rory gives Ty Gilfach 10/10!"

Can't get enough of the breathtaking views, I'm sure Cwm Pennant and Ty Gilfach will make their way into my future painting! Thank you for providing such a wonderful home from home. All the best Toni & Kim"

"We just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed staying at Ty Gilfach this weekend! The house was incredibly welcoming and it is obvious that you put a lot of time and effort into making it that way. We absolutely loved it and had everything we could have wanted as far as accommodations (especially a comfy bed!.) We hiked Mount Snowdon on Saturday and Sunday explored the waterfall on the property (gorgeous!) and then hit the beach before heading back to London! "
Andrea, Brian, Juno and Kona - London - Apr 2011

"We've had a wonderful week here and have really enjoyed everything that both North Wales and this house have had to offer. Our first day was spent in glorious sunshine outside with a walk up the hill in the afternoon. We have seen Cardigan bay from the top of the hill and the birth of new lambs and tasted some delicious Bara Brith. It was such a joy to wake up to the spectacular views every morning!
Thank you"
Matthew, Sally Gabriel, Laura, Merissa & Tyson - Gloucestershire - Apr 2011

"Really enjoyed our stay here. The spectacular views were fully enjoyed and we were granted gorgeous spring sunshine so set about wondering the hills. The well equipped kitchen was much appreciated! We would love to come back!"
Ben, Corrie & Honour - London - Mar 2011

"We came to run the Snowdonia marathon which was a wonderful experience. We were very grateful to have the comfort of Gilfach to relax in afterwards. We've stayed in many places but none have been as lovely as this one. The attention to detail was fantastic - it seemed as though every eventuality had been thought about! Poli loves to cook on holiday and the kitchen had everything he could have needed. We really appreciated the comfy beds and waking up to that view was just magical. We want to come again next year & we'd like to stay here again if you'll have us. It's just perfect! Diolch yn fawr."
Catrin, Poli, Llaima & Mali - Cardiff / Chile - Oct 2010

"MAGNIFICENT FARMHOUSE, MAGNIFICENT VIEWS!" One can only say 'WOW' when opening the door for the first time! No expense has been spared by the owners - traditional and beautifully contemporary rolled into one! The original traditional oak beams, 3ft walls, wonderful fireplace and stove made us realise we had made the right choice! However the best was yet to come. The views in the morning when we woke up were astounding! No wonder the person who reviewed the cottage next door referred to Cwm Pennant as the 'UK's BEST KEPT SECRET!' For those who have little ones (our daughter is a teenager now) there is a wonderful little playroom just off the lounge. We would have loved it when she was small and so would she. It is winter now but the garden is lovely and the whole property set within 50 acres with its own river. There is no need to leave the valley with wonderful walks from the doorstep but we did venture further afield and visited Black Rock Sands beach, the Ffestiniog railway and Portmeirion. The area has so much to explore. The owners were warm and welcoming and we cannot recommend this holiday farmhouse more highly. We will be back! Thank you "
